- The dogs request to be taught the Udgitha (Om).
- They agree to fast and chant Om in unison.
- Chanting Om, the dogs express their hunger as a prayer.
- This story shows even humble beings benefit from meditating on Om.
Section 6 – Om as Vital Breath (Prana)

- Breath alone is untouched by evil and victorious.
- One should meditate on breath as Om for strength and triumph.
Section 7 – Udgitha as the Supreme

- Just as spokes rest in a hub, all organs rest in breath.
- Breath sustains all parts of the body and the universe.
- One who knows this becomes the support of all.
- Meditating on breath as Udgitha leads to mastery and respect.
Section 8 – Meditation on Udgitha as the Sun and Breath

- A sage must meditate on this dual presence of Om.
- Through this knowledge, one attains brilliance and vitality.
- Such meditation grants harmony between the inner self and the cosmos.
Section 9 – Vital Breath as the Final Support
- The senses dispute who among them is the greatest.
- They decide to test their importance by leaving the body.
- Each sense leaves, and the body still survives.
- When breath (Prana) begins to leave, all senses become unstable.
- Realizing breath is supreme, the senses honor it as their king.

Section 10 – Breath as the Fire of Life
- The body is a sacred fire altar; breath is its flame.
- Food is the offering, and breath transforms it into life.

- Breath rises upward like flame and sustains the body.
- One who meditates on breath as fire gains spiritual illumination.
Section 11 – The Glories of Vital Breath (Prana)
- Breath is superior to speech, sight, hearing, and mind.
- All these organs depend on breath for their function.

- Breath is the unifying and sustaining force of life.
- Knowing breath as supreme grants long life and strength.
Section 12 – The Symbolism of the Sacrifice
- The sacrifice is symbolic of life and the human body.

- Just as rituals yield rewards, eating rightly gives strength.
- One who sees this connection lives with awareness and balance.
Section 13 – The Ultimate Role of Breath
